ABOUT US
Mundaring Marksmen Association was formed in 1978 by eight members interested in promoting rim-fire rifle competition. The Association progressed to centre-fire rifle in the early 1980’s, followed by pistol competition and recently adopted shotgun and black powder.
Mundaring Marksmen Association initially conducted weekly competition on the adjacent Chidlow Rifle Range. However in 1984 the Association successfully negotiated a lease from DEC and the Shire of Mundaring to construct a range on the present site. The conditions were primitive, as we shot rain, hail or shine from an open shooting mound, using our cars for shelter and equipment storage.
With membership fees and grants, a shooting shed and scoring shelter were erected, followed by clubrooms and on-site power. In 2005 we negotiated for surplus soil from the Great Eastern Highway upgrade to be transferred to the site to form four ranges to accommodate simultaneous rifle and pistol competition.
We have a strong membership and 4 ranges dedicated to Rifle, Statis Pistol, Dynamic Pistol and Shotgun.
